AskVibe Policies
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what AskVibe collects, why it is collected, how it is used, and what rights users may have. It is prepared for MVP and OAuth setup and must be reviewed before production launch.

Who we are
AskVibe is a real-time social participation product for short opinion prompts, lightweight answers, live results, and Vibe Points.
For now, AskVibe is an early MVP. Replace this placeholder with the legal entity name, registered address, and contact email before public launch or Google OAuth production verification.
What we collect
Account data: email address, authentication provider, username, preferred language, and optional profile fields such as country, city or region, age range, gender, and interests.
Participation data: vibes viewed, answers, skips, created vibes, result interactions, VP activity, timestamps, language, and broad location context when provided.
Guest data: a temporary guest session id, pending VP, answered vibe count, and basic activity needed to prevent duplicate answers and abuse.
Technical data: device/browser information, IP-derived security signals, logs, cookies, and similar data needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
Google sign-in data: if you continue with Google, we use the basic profile information needed to authenticate you, such as your Google account identifier and email address. We do not request Google permissions that are not needed for sign-in.
How we use data
We use data to operate AskVibe, authenticate accounts, show live vibes, record answers, calculate public aggregate results, manage VP, prevent abuse, personalize language and relevance, and improve the product.
We may use aggregated and de-identified participation data to understand trends, quality, and product performance. Individual answers are not intended to be exposed publicly with private demographic fields.
Legal bases in the EU
Contract: to provide the account, feed, vibe creation, My Vibe, VP history, and core product features.
Legitimate interests: to protect the product from abuse, measure product performance, improve quality, and maintain security.
Consent: where required for optional profile fields, communications, cookies, or future analytics/marketing features.
Legal obligation: when we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.
Google user data
AskVibe uses Google sign-in only to let users authenticate quickly. We use Google user data only for account access, security, and the user-facing features described in this policy.
We do not sell Google user data. We do not use Google user data for advertising, credit decisions, surveillance, or unrelated secondary purposes.
If AskVibe changes how it uses Google user data, users should be notified and asked to consent before the new use begins.
Sharing and processors
We may share data with service providers that help us operate the product, such as authentication, database, hosting, analytics, email, logging, and security providers.
Current intended processors include Supabase for authentication/database and hosting infrastructure used to deliver the application. Add final vendor names and DPAs before production launch.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer with appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
AskVibe may process data outside the European Economic Area depending on hosting and service provider locations.
Where required, transfers should rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Retention
Account data is kept while the account is active. Guest session data should be temporary and may be deleted or converted when a user creates an account.
Participation and VP records may be retained as needed to operate results, prevent duplicate votes, preserve VP history, investigate abuse, and comply with law.
When a user deletes their account, AskVibe should delete or anonymize personal data unless retention is required for legitimate security, legal, or integrity reasons.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy of your data, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise rights, contact AskVibe through the support email that must be added before production launch.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
AskVibe should follow privacy by design and default: collect only what is needed, protect data by default, and keep profile enrichment progressive and optional where possible.
Children
AskVibe is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes should be communicated in the product or by email when appropriate.
